We offer a full spectrum of services to a diverse range of clients, taking bridge solutions from initial concept through development, regulatory approvals, construction and commissioning to start-up and ongoing operational and maintenance support. We’ve worked on some of the longest cable-supported structures in the world, on the owner and construction side of the equation, serving as lead designer, technical advisor, independent design-checker and public-private partnership (P3) advisor. We also have extensive experience with multi-span viaducts, complex interchanges, moving bridges, arch, truss and other forms of bridges.
We’ve designed bridges spanning roads, railways and rivers, crossing valleys, estuaries and sea straits, connecting communities and creating opportunities for social change and economic development. Our bridge team has played lead roles planning, procuring, designing and delivering some of the world's most prestigious and technically demanding structures, not to mention beautiful.

The Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement Project
Jacobs served as program manager for The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering’s Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement Project, the largest bridge project in the city’s history which connects Boyle Heights, the Arts District and the Los Angeles River with improved streets, intersections, bike lanes, and viaduct ramps and stairs, all through a focus on improved community mobility.

Scotland’s largest infrastructure project for a generation, the Forth Replacement Crossing is safeguarding one of the most vital connections in the transport network and we served as a lead delivery partner to make it a reality.

Dubai Water Canal
Jacobs worked with the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to deliver a 16-mile waterway as a watermark signature and adding new vibrancy to Dubai’s ultramodern cityscape as a centerpiece for a host of new residential developments.

Jacobs Global Cross-Market Director for Bridges Nick Fuchs has more than 30 years of experience spanning all aspects of bridge engineering from inception, planning, concept design through to design, construction and maintenance. He’s led concept design works in environmentally challenging locations like Bermuda to the realization of two large bridges (one cable stay and one long span concrete balanced cantilever) in South Africa.

Marcos Loizias, Americas & Sustainability Global Principal
Marcos Loizias has over 39 years of professional experience in planning, conceptual studies, preliminary design, final design and plans, vessel collision impact studies, construction reviews and problem resolution, independent checking, and construction engineering of all types of steel and concrete long-span bridges (cable-stayed, suspension, arch, truss, extradose, girder, segmental), movable bridges, interchanges and major viaducts. From cable-stayed to segmental to conventional bridges, Marcos is on top of current construction techniques, which in turn leads to more constructible designs that are sensitive to the requirements of owners and contractors and the communities the projects serve. He is experienced in both conventional design-bid-build, design-build and P3 projects.

Manju Malige, Middle East Global Principal
Manjunatha Malige is an engineer, design and construction manager with extensive experience in the Middle East and North African Region. He has more than 28 years of experience managing the construction of civil structures and is responsible for the technical leadership of civils designs in the region. Manju has spent most of his career in civil construction and has significant knowledge of working to regional standards. His experience extends to the management and design of a broad range of skills in bridges and civil structures, including major bridge structures across waterways or creek crossings.

Dean Hogarth, Global Technical Excellence Lead for Bridges
Dean Hogarth is an experienced and dynamic bridge engineer who specializes in the design of major crossings and cable supported bridges. He has been integral to the design and construction of some of the largest and most complex bridge and rail structures worldwide. Dean is currently Jacobs Global Technical Excellence Lead for Bridges, responsible for stewardship and coordination of Jacobs bridges-related technical aspects worldwide.

Jacobs to Design Critical Highway Infrastructure for Brent Spence Bridge Corridor
Jacobs (NYSE: J) was selected as part of the Walsh Kokosing Joint Venture Design-Build Team to deliver critical infrastructure as part of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project (BSBC). The BSBC will deliver approximately eight miles of improved Interstates 71 and 75 through Kentucky and Ohio, including the addition of a new companion bridge reducing congestion, improving traffic flow and maintaining critical regional and national transportation corridors.
